In 2003, I wrote a chartering song and poem for Chi Iota Omega Graduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority, Inc. of Duplin County. Both were performed at our chartering ceremony on June 21, 2003.
In September 2003, I wrote a poem entitled, "No Ordinary Day," in honor of 9/11. It was
performed at Cherry Hospital during a ceremony honoring victims of the event and was featured for a month on the Cherry Hospital Chips
Internet System.
March 2004, I wrote and recited, "In Her Footsteps" which I wrote in honor of My
Sister's House Ministries' banquet with this theme and title.
In 2006, I wrote and featured a song "We Are Not Defeated," in honor of Duplin County's
Relay for Life Cancer Survivors and their families. It was performed at the event that year.
